Theodor Vogelstein

Theodor Max Vogelstein (born May 18, 1880 in Stettin ; died May 5, 1957 in Paris ) was a banker and industrialist.

Life

Theodor Vogelstein was the third son of the Szczecin rabbi Heinemann Vogelstein . Hermann Vogelstein , Ludwig Vogelstein and Julie Braun-Vogelstein were his siblings.

In 1901 Theodor Vogelstein graduated as Dr. oec. publ. from. From 1910 he worked as a lecturer in Munich . During the First World War he was director of the Kriegsmetallgesellschaft . From 1919 to 1933 he worked as a banker in Berlin, where he was a. a. Partner in the C. Kretschmar banking house and partner in J. Dreyfus & Co. He was also a member of the supervisory board of lignite and electricity companies and co-founder of the German Democratic Party . Vogelstein was also a member of the Society for Social Reform , the Association for Social Policy and in 1918/19 the Socialization Commission .

In 1933 he emigrated to France, then to England, then to the USA.
