Theodor Waldau

Theodor Waldau (born June 27, 1881 in Galatz , Romania, as Dorku Goldberg ; † March 27, 1942 in Buchenwald concentration camp ) was a writer and journalist.

Theodor Waldau wrote under the stage name Wau Wau in Austria in the 1920s many texts on popular songs, for example on the radio hit "The beautiful Adrienne has a high antenna" by Hermann Leopoldi , or on the "Vienna Stadium March" for the friends of »Sport and Record«. Serious songs like “Never again war!”, Which Hermann Leopoldi sang on record in 1929, or “Jedermann” he drew with his full name. From 1915 to 1924 Waldau was editor-in-chief of the satirical magazine Die Muskete . For the Austrian Workers' Association in Vienna he wrote “Das Lied vom Arbeitsmann” with the text “Always ahead!” To the music of Hermann Leopoldi. He died on March 27, 1942 in Buchenwald concentration camp.
