Theodor Zeerleder

Theodor Zeerleder (born January 3, 1820 in Bern ; † May 30, 1868 there ) was a Swiss architect , draftsman and watercolorist .

Zeerleder was a son of Ludwig Zeerleder . He studied at the Polytechnic in Karlsruhe and in Paris and, after traveling for years, was Bern's Grand Councilor from 1850 to 1854 . In 1855 he attended the world exhibition in Paris , from 1858 to 1859 he toured England , in 1859 he participated in the Bern rotating exhibition and from 1858 to 1861 was president of the Bernese Artists' Society .

The Villa Egghölzli in Bern as well as parts of the Oberhofen Castle and the Gesellschafthaus zu Schmieden come from Zeerleder . His estate is in the Bern Burger Library .
