Theodor de la Camp

Theodor de la Camp (born January 12, 1818 in Hamburg ; † May 4, 1888 there ) was a German merchant .

Life

Theodor de la Camp was the son of the Hamburg merchant Johann Hinrich de la Camp (1786-1851) and his wife Johanna Elisabeth, née Weisse (1791-1883). Hermann Wilhelm de la Camp was his brother.

From March 1840 he was a member of the Hamburg Gymnastics Association from 1816 , which he chaired as "Turnwart" from September 29, 1849 to October 4, 1851.

Camp was in the company Joh. Hinr. de la Camp jun. active. He also had a commission business and was one of the five main collectors of the Hamburg city lottery. From 1862 to 1868 Camp was a member of the building deputation and from 1870 to 1875 he was a commercial judge .

In the Hamburg gymnastics club from 1816 he served as a volunteer gymnastics supervisor from 1849 to 1851. From 1880 to 1888 he was a member of the administration of the Hamburg City Theater .

Camp was a member of the Hamburg parliament from 1862 to 1874 . From 1870 to 1874 he was a member of the citizens' committee .

Theodor de la Camp married Henriette Wilhelmine Eleonore Timmermann (1830–1863) on November 23, 1850, they had two sons and two daughters. On May 10, 1870, he married Henriette Dorothea Amanda Buhrow (1838-1911), the doctor Oskar de la Camp was his son from this marriage.
