There's One Born Every Minute is an American film from 1942 with Hugh Herbert and Peggy Moran in the lead role. In the black and white under the direction of Harold Young incurred movie has Elizabeth Taylor made her film debut in a small supporting role.

An explosive laboratory report reveals that the pudding from the food manufacturer Lemuel P. Twine contains the substances "Vitamin Z" and "Zumph" (a chemical substance). Lemuel's daughter Helen is also in love with Jimmy, but her mother wants her to see Lester Cadwalader Jr. get married. His father Lester Cadwalader Sr. is the city's secret political leader and the most important advisor to Mayor Moe Carson. Cadwalader supports Lemuel in becoming mayor, although he knows that he has little chance against the strong incumbent candidate. But now that “Zumph” has been found in Lemuel's pudding, Cadwalader sr. Realizes that he now has a chance of winning. He takes the opportunity and brands Lemuel's pudding as a fake and Lemuel as a fraud. But Lemuel comes from a long line of combative twines, and in his sleep his ancestors appear to him and challenge him to fight the fight to the end.

Elizabeth Taylor's film appearance here was her debut. She played a rather insignificant supporting role. The film was realized by Universal Pictures . It remained Taylor's only collaboration with the studio.
The film had its world premiere in the USA on June 26, 1942 . So far it has not been shown in Germany.
