Theresa Simon

Theresa Simon (born September 25, 1998 in Wolfenbüttel ) is a German basketball player . She plays for the Blue Dolphins Marburg in the 1st women's basketball division .

Life

In her childhood, Theresa Simon tried out a wide variety of sports, including children's gymnastics, athletics and volleyball . Simon started playing tennis at the age of seven , as her whole family was involved in the sport. She also started playing basketball at the age of eight. In the end she decided to play basketball as a team sport.

Career

At the age of ten, Theresa Simon played her first point games in the U12. At the age of 15 she made the leap into the 1st regional league. She also played in the WNBL (Female Junior League). There she was German runner-up and MVP (most valuable player) of the 2014/15 season in her hometown of Wolfenbüttel . At the same time, she played in the U16 national team. In 2015 she was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga and the U18 national team. She later played for the U20 national team and the U23 national team in 3x3 games. In 2018 she rose with the team "Wolfpack Wolfenbüttel" from the 2nd women's basketball league as captain of the team in the 1st women's basketball league. Since 2019 she has been playing in the women's national team and in the 3x3 women's national team.

Internationally, she celebrated successes at the U16 European Championship in 2014 and U20 European Championship in 2017, in which she took first place. At the 3x3 U23 World Championship, she won 4th place and 2nd place at the 2018 Skills Contest.
