Freiin Therese von Braunecker-Schäfer ( April 3, 1825 in Vienna , Austrian Empire - March 8, 1888 in Iglau ) was an Austrian theater actress , singer ( soprano ) and dancer .

Life

She showed an early talent for the theater and was engaged at the German Theater in Pest in 1850 .

There she was pleasantly noticed by her lively demeanor, and after just a year of working there, she was won over by the director Johann Hoffmann for the German State Theater in Prague . She appeared on June 3rd in the "Promise behind the stove" and in the "Fliedermüller family" and struck with her heavily parodic coarseness, her almost trivial, but fresh and powerful games. Her commitment was seen as the event of 1851 in the Posse area under Hoffmann's direction and as the greatest deed during his last years as director in Prague, and when Stöger took over the management, he was primarily concerned with being this excellent Austrian local singer Institute. The time of her artistic work in Prague (1851 to 1855) was long unforgettable.

She caused a special stir as the "false pepita", because she danced the Madrilena with such perfect grace that she aroused enthusiastic jubilation with her performances.

With the Madrilena, she ended her artistic career at the Prague State Theater on March 25, 1855 to general cheers. She came to Vienna at the Karltheater. There she worked as one of the most outstanding and popular members alongside Wenzel Scholz , Johann Nestroy and Karl Treumann , with whom she also moved to the Quaitheater. With the exception of the year 1869, in which she worked at the Lviv City Theater, she also remained loyal to her hometown.

Under Anton Ascher and Franz von Jauner , she switched to the comic old man. On October 1, 1880, she appeared for the first time in the operetta Das Spitzentuch der Königin at the Theater an der Wien, on which stage she remained until her retirement.

The last time she appeared before her illness was on November 18, 1886 at the Wiedner Theater in front of her numerous admirers, then she withdrew to her relatives in Iglau, where she generally mourned on March 8, 1888, with well-deserved honors of all kinds , passed away.
