Fletcher, mayor of a big city wants to fight displacement and corruption. He realizes that an accuser who is only after the headlines picks up only the small fish and puts him in danger with his inaction. Dr. John Pritchart runs the city's forensic science laboratory. His research methods check every clue using spectrographs. After examining even the smallest clues such as fibers and powder residues, he can solve the case.

In 1939 the film was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Short Film (Two-Reel) category.
