Thiedo (also Theodor, Thietgrim, Diedo) was Bishop of Brandenburg from 1069 to 1085/1088 .

Life

It is assumed that Thiedo emerged from the cathedral chapter of Bremen . His first mention as Bishop of Brandenburg was on June 11, 1069. He was present at the consecration of the principale monasterium in Halberstadt on June 13, 1071. The St. George's Church near Kaiserswerth was consecrated by him on April 15, 1078. He took part in the Synod of Worms on January 24, 1076 and at the Synod of Brixen on June 25, 1080. On behalf of Emperor Heinrich IV , he consecrated Hartwig von Hersfeld as archbishop in Magdeburg on July 13, 1085 in place of Hartwig von Spanheim, who had fled . When Hartwig von Spanheim became Archbishop of Magdeburg again in 1088, after making his peace with the emperor, Thiedo no longer appears in the documents. It is believed that he lost his bishopric.
