Thoise is a military airfield at 3,067 meters above sea level and a small village in the Shyok Valley in Ladakh , India (Thoise is an acronym from: T ransit H alt O f I ndian S oldiers E nroute).

The airport and village are important because the airport is used for the military replenishment of people and material with helicopters and airplanes for the Indian border troops, who have been stationed on the Siachen Glacier since the Siachen conflict of April 13, 1984 until today . The Indian army also has a fuel store for its vehicles and airships at Thoise. Thoise is about 160 km from Leh in Ladakh and 25 km from Disket , a place in the Nubra Valley . Thoise can be reached by motorized vehicle via the Kardung-La-Pass , one of the highest navigable high mountain passes in the world.

Behind Thoise there is a restricted military area after the Hundur checkpoint, which can only be entered with permission.
