Thomas Albeck (born January 30, 1956 in Stuttgart ; † October 17, 2017 in Leipzig ) was a German football player and official as well as a graduate economist .

Career as a footballer

In his active career as a footballer, Albeck mostly played for the second team of the Stuttgarter Kickers and once for their professional team: At the beginning of the 1981/82 season he was used in the away defeat at SpVgg Bayreuth .

Professional

From 1986 to 1999 Albeck was an association sports teacher at the Württemberg Football Association . He then worked from 1999 to 2012 as a youth coordinator for VfB Stuttgart . From July 1, 2013 until his death, he headed the RB Leipzig youth academy .
