Thomas Dechant
Thomas Dechant (born March 10, 1968 in Munich ) is a German politician. He is an entrepreneur and was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament ( FDP ) from October 2008 to September 2013 .
Life
Thomas Dechant worked as a telecommunications technician a. a. at Siemens AG and as an IT service technician at several companies. Most recently he was IT manager in a hospital group. In 1998 he started his own business and in 2001 founded A-PC Informations. GmbH & Co KG , of which he has been managing director since then.
Thomas Dechant has also been a partner and managing director of Opitz Dechant GmbH since 2012.
Thomas Dechant has owned a farm since 2000. The company is currently leased. Thomas Dechant has also been running a photovoltaic system on the farm's buildings since 2010.
He has a daughter.
politics
Thomas Dechant was a member of the FDP Bavaria from 2002 to September 2013 . From 2008 to 2012 he headed the FDP state committee for nutrition, agriculture, forestry and consumer protection. From 2007 to 2008 he was district manager of the FDP Upper Palatinate.
Since the Bavarian local elections on March 18, 2008 , he has been a member of the Regensburg district council .
He was elected to the Bavarian State Parliament in the 2008 state elections via the Upper Palatinate district list. In his direct voting group 305 Regensburger-Land, Schwandorf , he took fourth place with 3,782 first votes (7.1%).
He was a member of the Diet, Agriculture and Forestry Committee and was Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Federal and European Affairs.
As announced in April 2013, Thomas Dechant left the FDP in September 2013 and did not run for the state parliament in Bavaria in 2013.
Thomas Dechant has been politically committed to free voters at the local level since 2014.
Thomas Dechant is running for free voters in his home town of Regenstauf in 2014 as mayor. He stood with the free voters for the market council in Regenstauf and ran again for the district council in the district of Regensburg.
Thomas Dechant was re-elected to the district council of the district of Regensburg with 22,701 votes. In his first election in 2008, he got 7,519 votes.
