Thomas Dienberg

Thomas Dienberg OFMCap (* 1964 in Bocholt ) is a German theologian .

Life

He entered the Capuchin Order in 1983 and was ordained a priest in 1991. After studying Catholic theology in Münster , Nijmegen , Vienna and the USA and training in client-centered discussion management as well as leading and accompanying groups, he received his doctorate in 1996 . From 1992 to 2001 he was junior leader of the Rhenish-Westphalian Capuchin Province, from 1992 to 2016 he was training director first of the Rhenish-Westphalian Capuchin Province, then the German Capuchin Province that was created after the merger in 2010 . From 1998 to 2013, he was given various functions in provincial leadership in both provinces. Since 2002 he has been teaching as a professor in the field of theology of spirituality at the Philosophical-Theological University (PTH) in Münster . In 2006 he obtained a Master's degree in Organizational Management from the Ruhr University Bochum . From 2002 to 2014 he was the rector of the PTH Münster, and since 2016 he has been the director of IUNCTUS - Competence Center for Christian Spirituality at this university. He teaches as a visiting professor at the Pontificia Universitas Antonianum in Rome and at various universities around the world. Thomas Dienberg is co-editor of the journal Wissenschaft und Weisheit , member of the advisory board of the European SPES Institute and chairman of the Franciscan Research Unit in Münster.
