Thomas Eggensperger

Thomas Eggensperger OP (born May 31, 1963 in Vienna ) is a German Catholic theologian and university professor.

Life

He grew up in Ludwigsburg . Eggensperger attended the Pestalozzi Primary School in Ludwigsburg from 1969 to 1973 and the Friedrich Schiller High School in Ludwigsburg from 1973 to 1982 . After graduating from high school in 1982, he entered the Dominican Order and completed the novitiate in Warburg from 1982 to 1983 . From 1983 to 1988 he studied theology at the University of Bonn , where he obtained his degree in theology. From 1991 to 2000 he developed and carried out the pastoral project Open Church of the Dominicans at Sankt Andreas - City-Seelsorge in Düsseldorf . From 1988 to 1991 he studied philosophy, Spanish and the Catholic religion at the University of Cologne , where he obtained his master's degree. Since 1996 he has been the chief editor of the theological journal Word and Answer . In 2000 he was at the Theological Faculty of the University of Friborg to Dr. theol. PhD . From 2000 to 2005 he was Directeur Général of the Institut Espaces - spiritualités, cultures et société en Europe in Brussels .

From 2000 to 2006 he was the study rain of the Dominicans of South Belgium. Since 2001 he has been director of the M.-Dominique Chenu Institute in Berlin. From 2002 to 2007 he taught at the Free University of Berlin as a lecturer (theology). Since 2003 he has been the clergyman of the Catholic Academic Foreigners Service . Since 2006 he has been a member of the Advisory Board of Forum 46 - Interdisciplinary Forum for Europe . Since 2007 he has been a lecturer at the University of Potsdam (religious studies, LER). From 2007 to 2009 he was the clergyman of the Gordian Kreis Leipzig in the Cartell Rupert Mayer . From 2008 to 2010 he was a lecturer at the Institute for Church, Management and Spirituality (IKMS) at the PTH Münster . In 2007 he was the delegate of the German Bishops' Conference for the 3rd European Ecumenical Assembly ( Sibiu ) . Since 2007 he has been teaching social ethics and social sciences at the PTH Münster . Since 2009 he has been a member of the advisory board of the magazine Ciencia Tomista . Since 2009 he has been director of the St. Albertus Magnus library at the Archbishop's Diocesan and Cathedral Library in Cologne . Since 2010 he has been a member of the Catholic Working Group for Leisure and Tourism (KAFT) of the German Bishops' Conference. In 2010 he represented the lectures at the Catholic Faculty of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich (social ethics). Since 2013 he has been a member of the Assemblée Génerale des “Patrimoine de l'Institut International des Sciences Théoriques” (PIIST). He has been coordinating the Albertus Magnus research network since 2016 . Since 2018 he has also been teaching at the Catholic University of Eichstätt .
