Thomas Dybdahl (born April 12, 1979 in Sandnes , Norway ) is a Norwegian musician. He was the former guitarist of the Norway-only Quadraphonics (formerly State of Mind ).

Life

The Norwegian has been writing and arranging as a solo artist since 2000. His first album ... That great October Sound from the October trilogy was released in Norway in 2002 and earned him a permanent place in the Norwegian charts and soon international renown, thanks to the European release of the CD and its successor Stray Dogs was reinforced.

He was also awarded the Spellemann Prize (Norwegian equivalent to the Grammy ) and the Alarm Award for his work . He was given a special honor when he was allowed to play in Poland on the occasion of a visit to the Norwegian royal family .

In addition to his work as a solo artist, he is the singer and guitarist of the Norwegian band The National Bank and sang several pieces on Morcheeba's record Dive Deep , which was released in February 2008. At the same time, he was occasionally responsible for the music of feature films. He wrote the music for each of the dramas Rottenetter and Abenteuerland , staged by Arild Østin Ommundsen , for which he was both nominated for the Norwegian film award Amanda and was also awarded for the first. To appear with an indie drama as a film composer at the Sundance Festival, he has decided at the next opportunity.

For his album All These Things (2018) he went to a studio in Los Angeles. It came just a year after The Great Plains (2017) because he had so much good song material up his sleeve.
