Thomas Eder von Kainbach

Thomas Eder von Kainbach (* in Stainz ; † 1661 ) was an imperial court paymaster, Styrian court pfennig master and younger brother of Andreas Eder von Kainbach .

Career

Thomas Eder was born in Stainz and followed in the footsteps of his older brother Andreas Eder von Kainbach. He became a state official, in 1604 he and his brothers received a coat of arms from Archduke Ferdinand II . In 1611 he became a valet for Archduke Ferdinand II, in 1614 he moved to the sovereign financial administration as a counter-writer. In 1621 Thomas and Andreas Eder built Kainbach Castle and lived in it. In the same year he was given the management of the March forage office, and a year later he was also responsible for the provisioning of the Schloßberg crew. In 1629 Thomas Eder was appointed court pfennig master. In 1638 he moved to Vienna after disputes with the court chamber president Sigiasmund Ludwig Graf Dietrichstein . There he became court paymaster, Thomas Eder died in 1661.

Thomas had four brothers; Andreas , Paul , Johann and Stephan Eder. On October 15, 1611 he married Maria Anna Putrer and the couple had at least five children. His sons Johann Adam and Leopold Ignatius inherited both their father Thomas and their uncles Andreas and Paul Eder. Johann Adam studied in Ingolstadt in 1637 and rose as a civil servant to the court chamber councilor in Vienna. In 1661, after his father's death, he moved to Kainbach, he died in 1681. Leopold Ignatius studied in Siena in 1633 and joined the imperial army in 1640. Until 1658 he was appointed lieutenant colonel. In 1669 Emperor Leopold II appointed the brothers barons and they were allowed to omit the addition of Eder to their name. The last male representative, Franz Josef Freiherr von Kainbach, died seriously indebted in Graz in 1756.
