After returning from Poland, his next task was to organize the wedding celebrations of Archduke Ferdinand with Maria Anna of Bavaria in April 1600, in November Eder was hired as a Raitdiener (accounting clerk).

Andreas Eder's career was closely linked to that of Hans Ulrich von Eggenberg . In December 1602 Eder became the administrator of the court bookkeeper, in May 1604 the court pfennig master. This meant checking the financial management, payment of the court servants and officials, as well as the appanages for the members of the princely family. In that year he and his brothers received a coat of arms, and in 1606 Andreas Eder was ennobled .

In 1615 war broke out between Inner Austria and the Republic of Venice . This additional burden put so much stress on Andreas Eder that he asked for his dismissal as court pfennig master and for promotion to the chamber council . This was granted and on his recommendation his brother-in-law Christoph Kirchpichler became his successor, which enabled him to further influence. Thanks to successful reforms in the Innerberg iron industry and the state administration, he was appointed court chamber councilor.

After Archduke Ferdinand was elected Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire , Andreas Eder stayed in Graz. In 1620, the nobility was confirmed by Andreas and his brothers Thomas and Paul. Since then he has called himself Andreas Eder zu Kainbach after his rule there. In 1625 Hans Ulrich Fürst Eggenberg was appointed the authorized governor of Inner Austria, one year later Eder was named the second of the six court chamber councilors. In 1628 the wife Andreas Eders died and was buried in St. Leonhard .

In 1631 Emperor Ferdinand III married . the Spanish Infanta Maria Anna of Spain . Andreas Eder was entrusted with the financial management of the Infanta’s journey. In September 1632 he became the representative of the sick court chamber president, in 1634 the governor Hans Ulrich Fürst Eggenberg died and Andreas Eder was appointed to the Styrian provincial diocese. Due to the cumulative offices of the brothers, Sigismund Ludwig Graf Dietrichstein was appointed President of the Court Chamber in 1636. In 1637 Emperor Ferdinand II died, his son Emperor Ferdinand III. was no longer as closely connected to the Eder von Kainbach family as his father. However, Andreas Eder remained Vice President of the Hofkammer.

In 1639, at the age of 63, Andreas Eder asked for his discharge from the state service, but remained vice-president of the court chamber, and it was not until the end of 1646 that he resigned as state vice-cathedral. He also remained active as a wood steward. It was not until 1650 that he resigned from the position of Vice President of the Court Chamber. Andreas Eder died on December 20, 1652 and was buried next to his wife Elisabeth. The tomb has been preserved to this day and is located on the southern outer wall of the church.

Acquisition of power

As early as 1600 as a Raitdiener, Andreas Eder began buying land in the Kainbach area near Graz. In 1614 these properties were exempted from all taxes by Archduke Ferdinand. In 1620 he bought the offices of Milchgraben, Neudorf, Kainbach and Ragnitz with all rights.

In 1621 Thomas and Andreas Eder built Kainbach Castle and lived in it. Andre Eder owned a Meierhof in the southwest of Graz, and in 1622 he acquired the two offices of Ober- and Unterzeiring. His brother-in-law Christoph Kirchpichler ruled the Rothenturm and was given the office of St. Peter ob Judenburg as a gift. After his death, Andreas Eder took over the rule from his sister Eva. In his career as a civil servant he received numerous perks such as free deliveries of lead, wood and iron, and annual allowances of game, salt and other things.
