Thomas Friedrich Gedon , often Friedrich Gedon (* before 1732, † 1771 ) was an Austrian painter of the Baroque and student Daniel Grans .

In 1732 Gedon won first prize for a task at the Academy of Fine Arts with Solomon's judgment . From 1740 to 1743 he created the frescoes of St. Pölten Cathedral . The associated oil sketches for the frescoes are exhibited in the Diocesan Museum St. Pölten in the Episcopal Oratory. Around 1750 he created the - meanwhile heavily overpainted - main altar painting Mission of the Holy Spirit for the cemetery church of the Holy Spirit in Kunštát, as well as the oil paintings Immaculata and the stigmatization of St. Francis of Assisi for the side altars . In the Basilica of Maria Dreieichen , the altarpieces of the two front side altars, Apostles Peter and Paul Farewell in Rome before the Martyrdom and St. Capuchin brother Felix of Cantalice of Gedon. In 1767 he painted an oil painting of Prior Gottfried Claa, exhibited in the Rollett Museum in Baden (Lower Austria) . In Seitenstetten Gedons painting is Moses discovery in the reed basket on display.

In St. Pölten is Gedongasse named after him.
