Thomas Funk (born November 24, 1962 in Bad Wimpfen ) is a German SPD politician and was a member of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament from 2011 to 2016 .

education and profession

After primary school in Epfenbach and the Abitur at the Adolf-Schmitthenner-Gymnasium in Neckarbischofsheim , Thomas Funk studied politics and economics at the Ruprecht-Karls-University in Heidelberg . Initially, he worked in personnel development for a large insurance company. He then worked as a concept developer and speaker in adult education.

Political activity

Thomas Funk has been a member of the SPD since 1982. From 1989 to 2003 he was a member of the Epfenbach parish council. He has been the district chairman of the SPD in the Rhein-Neckar district since 2009 . In the state elections in Baden-Württemberg in 2011 , he was elected to the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg via a second mandate in the constituency of Sinsheim . In the state elections in 2016 , he received 15.0% of the vote and thus no new mandate.

Family and private

Thomas Funk is Protestant. He lives in Sinsheim, is married and has two children.
