Thomas Grandoch
Thomas Grandoch (born October 14, 1983 in Bottrop ) is a German director and media entrepreneur.
Life
Grandoch made his Abitur at Heinrich Heine Gymnasium in Bottrop. From 2005 to 2011 he studied commercials, new media and strategic marketing (social and business communication) at the Berlin University of the Arts and at the International Film School Wales. In 2012, Grandoch founded the company tvib (Storyfeed GmbH). He also worked as a consultant for a Berlin radio station group for the development of innovative communication formats.
Parallel to his work in the media industry, he works on musical theater productions such as the Berlin premiere of the musicals I love you, you're perfect, now change and Der schenkte Gaul , the autobiographical musical by Hildegard Knef , both in the 2005/2006 season Berlin Hansa Theater . In 2010 Grandoch was the artistic director and director of the Verdi opera Aida , which took place as part of the Ruhr.2010 Capital of Culture festival in the Bergarena on the Haniel mine. In 2011 he staged the contemporary opera The Lighthouse by Peter Maxwell Davies in a disused Malakow tower in Bottrop . In the summer of 2016, Grandoch staged Haniel Wagner's Der Fliegende Holländer in the Bergarena on the heap . The staging attracted national attention.

- 2012: Award as culture and creative pilot by the initiative for culture and creative industries of the federal government
- 2012: Culture Prize of the City of Bottrop
- 2012–2013: EXIST start-up grant from the Federal Ministry of Economics
- 2013: “Founder Award IKT Innovativ” of the Federal Ministry of Economics
