Thomas Grimmonprez

Thomas Grimmonprez (born December 22, 1973 ) is a French musician ( drums , composition ) of modern jazz .

Grimmonprez was active in the French jazz scene from the 1990s; first recordings were made in 1997 with Riccardo Del Fra ( Pour Rire! ). In the following years he played a. a. in the Patrice Caratini Jazz Ensemble, in the Claudia Solal Quartet, Les Arpenteurs, in the Stéphane Kerecki Trio and also worked with her own trio / quartet. In the field of jazz he was involved in 16 recording sessions between 1997 and 2013, according to Tom Lord . a. with Gueorgui Kornazov , Martial Solal , Denis Colin , Nicolas Folmer . He has released several albums under his own name, for which he also wrote compositions, Bleu (2009, with Jérémie Ternoy, Fender Rhodes and Christophe Hache, bass), Kaleidoscope (2016) and Big Wheel (2019).
