Thomas Grubb McCullough

Thomas Grubb McCullough (born April 20, 1785 in Greencastle , Franklin County , Pennsylvania , †  September 10, 1848 in Chambersburg , Pennsylvania) was an American politician . In 1820 and 1821 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Thomas McCullough attended public schools in his home country. After completing a law degree and being admitted to the bar in 1806, he began to work in this profession. He also took part in the British-American War of 1812 as a soldier . Politically, he became a member of the Federalist Party . After the resignation of MP David Fullerton , McCullough was elected as his successor to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , where he took up his new mandate on October 17, 1820. By March 3, 1821, he was able to end the current legislative period in Congress .

Between 1831 and 1835 he was a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives . Thomas McCullough was the first president of the Cumberland Valley Railroad . He also published a newspaper. At the time of his death on September 10, 1848, he was President of the Bank of Chambersburg .
