Thomas Häberle

Thomas Häberle (born May 15, 1956 in Stuttgart ) is a German film producer and film rights dealer .

Act

After studying business administration, Thomas Häberle first worked in advertising film production before he founded Kinowelt Filmverleih together with Michael Kölmel in 1987 , where he was managing partner until 1996, later also managing partner of Kinowelt Filmproduktion together with Rainer Kölmel. In 1995, Häberle, as managing director of Kinowelt, received the award from the German Minister of the Interior for outstanding performance in the film distribution sector. Häberle has brought numerous films by well-known directors to German cinemas, including names such as Pedro Almodovar , Jean-Luc Godard , Wim Wenders , Zhang Yimou , Won Kar-Wai , Ang Lee , David Mamet , Woody Allen , Anthony Minghella and Quentin Tarantino . In 1994, Häberle was a founding member of Arthaus Filmvertrieb , which at that time was doing pioneering work in the field of high-quality film for the video market in Germany.

Thomas Häberle left Kinowelt in 1996 and founded “Indigo Filmproduktion” in Munich with Christian Becker as a partner and the production company “Becker & Häberle Filmproduktion” in Krefeld. This collaboration resulted in films such as Bang Boom Bang and Das Jesus Video .

In 2000, Häberle brought the two companies to the stock exchange under the umbrella of FAME / Film & Music Entertainment AG, where he was responsible for the entire film production area as a member of the board.

In 2003 Thomas Häberle founded the production company "Shotgun Pictures" in Munich, where he was also the managing director until 2008. Shotgun has produced several international feature films and has also worked as a co-producer on films such as u. a. Open Water2, Princess, Suely in the Sky.

In addition to his activity as a producer, Thomas Häberle was managing director of the company "Pierrot LeFou Filmvertriebsgesellschaft" in Munich until 2013, focusing on sales and DVD marketing of intl. Movie classics.

Others

Häberle has been a member of the European Film Academy since 2000 and of the German Film Academy since 2003 .

In 2012 Thomas Häberle began developing a new business area, which led to the establishment of Boulangerie Dompierre GmbH for the production and sale of French baked goods.
