Thomas Huber (born July 17, 1972 in Ebersberg ) is a German politician ( CSU ) from Grafing near Munich .

Personal history

After attending the Grafing elementary and secondary school, Thomas Huber completed training as an administrative clerk at the city of Grafing from 1987 to 1990 . Huber gained over the second-chance education then the high school and college entrance . From 1993 to 1995 he completed a part-time course as an administrative specialist and from 2004 to 2006 an international part-time master’s degree at the Paris-Lodron University in Salzburg with a Master of Business Administration degree . Another part-time study at the HSG's management institute followed from 2010 to 2012 with a degree in business administration (SGMI). Until his election, he worked as the head of the Education and Personnel Development department, regional office of the Bavarian Red Cross .

Political career

In 1992 Huber joined the Junge Union and the CSU. From 1993 to 1996 he was deputy JU local chairman in Grafing, from 1994 a member of the JU district board and from 1997 deputy JU district chairman. Since the same year he was a member of the CSU district executive. From 1996 to 2000 Huber was the local chairman of the JU Grafing and from 2001 to 2005 the district chairman of the Junge Union. In 1998 Huber worked on the Future Commission of the Bavarian Prime Minister. From 1999 to 2009 he was also a member of the district board of the JU (2003–2005 deputy district chairman) and CSU Upper Bavaria.

From 2001 to 2005 Huber took over the chairmanship of the CSU local association Grafing. From 2005 to 2009 he was a member of the state board and local political spokesman of the Junge Union Bayern and a member of the KPV state board and the main committee. Huber has been the working group chairman of the active civil society working group since 2000 and he was deputy CSU district chairman since 2003, until he succeeded Angelika Niebler as chairman of the CSU district association Ebersberg.

Huber has been a city councilor in Grafing since 1996 and has been a district councilor in the Ebersberg district since 2002 and is still deputy chairman of the parliamentary group. From 2003 to 2013 he was a district councilor for the Ebersberg constituency. In the 2013 state elections , Huber won the direct mandate in the Ebersberg district with 46.4% of the vote. In the Bavarian state parliament , Huber became the integration policy spokesman for the CSU state parliamentary group. In the state elections in 2018, Huber won the direct mandate in the Ebersberg district with 36.1% of the first votes. In December 2018 he became the social policy spokesman for the CSU parliamentary group. Huber has headed the CSU's family commission since February 2019. Huber is Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Labor and Social Affairs, Youth and Family in the Bavarian State Parliament.

Other public offices

In 2017, Huber took over the chairmanship of the water rescue service in the Bavarian Red Cross as the successor to Ulrike Scharf .

Private

Huber is Roman Catholic , married and has had a son since 2002.
