Thomas Jansing (* in Dortmund ) is a German journalist . He is the founder and managing director of the donation organization Sternstunden .

Career

Jansing came to Bayerischer Rundfunk in the mid-1980s . As the successor to Hanns Helmut Böck, he was head of entertainment for Bavarian television from December 1997 until he left the station on July 31, 2010. In this function he initiated the Bavarian Cabaret Prize in 1999 .

In 1993, under the influence of the war in the former Yugoslavia, he initiated the charity campaign Sternstunden . With a total of 158 million euros in donations and 2,300 projects funded, it is Bavaria's most successful charity campaign. Since August 2010 he has been managing director of Sternstunden e. V.
