Thomas Beetle
Thomas Käfer (* 1960 in Munich ) is a German jeweler and pawnbroker .
Life
Thomas Käfer is the son of Helmut Käfer, who with his brother Gerd Käfer took over the delicatessen business from their parents in the 1960s and developed it into the Käfer Group . Thomas should follow in the footsteps of his father and uncle and take over the family business. At the age of 15, his father organized for him an apprenticeship as a chef with star chef Paul Bocuse , but Thomas decided against his father's wish and left high school after the tenth grade. Initially he earned his living as a flea market seller and waiter in the family business until he finally completed a commercial apprenticeship.
While his cousin Michael Käfer joined the management in 1988 and took over the general management of the restaurant business in 1992, Thomas Käfer opened his first jewelry store in 1988, which was followed by four more in 1991. When the industry plunged into a crisis, Käfer reduced the number of branches back to one store. In 1999 he opened his first pawn shop and today, after moving, he runs one of the largest pawn shops in Munich . In addition, Käfer also operates a gold purchase shop in Munich .
Käfer was introduced to a wider audience in 2013 with appearances on the scripted reality show Help - I'm broke! Last rescue pawnbroker known from Sat.1 . 2016 he joined the NDR - entertainment show Who offers more? as a dealer. Since November 19, 2018, Käfer has been a retailer in the RTL program Die Superhandel - 4 rooms, 1 deal .
