Gerd Käfer
Gerd Käfer (born October 19, 1932 in Munich ; † May 23, 2015 there ) was a German restaurateur who also worked as an author on cookbooks .
Life
Gerd Käfer's parents, Paul and Elsa Käfer, opened a grocery store in Munich's Prinzregentenstrasse in 1930 to sell wines, liqueurs and bottled beers. He took over the delicatessen business with his brother Helmut Käfer and opened a bistro. In 1959 Gerd Käfer started organizing events and thus founded what is now the most important branch of the Feinkost Käfer company . In 1971 Gerd Käfer opened a tent at the Oktoberfest .
At the beginning of the 1990s, his son Michael Käfer took over the Feinkost Käfer company. Gerd Käfer was a partner in Kurhaus Gastronomy Wiesbaden.
2015 Beetle succumbed to the presence of his wife Uschi Ackermann and his son's cancer . His final resting place is in Munich's Ostfriedhof in the Obergiesing district .
