Thomas Kirste

Thomas Kirste (* 1977 ) is a German politician of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) from Meissen and a member of the Saxon state parliament , where he acts as the cultural-political spokesman for his parliamentary group.

Life

Thomas Kirste was born in 1977 to an old entrepreneurial family from Meissen, where he lives.

Professional background

After graduating from school, he trained as an electronics technician at Deutsche Bahn AG in Coswig from 1994 to 1998 . In 1998 Kirste became the technical manager of a Meissen craft business. From 2003 to 2008 Kirste completed a degree in business administration at the Dresden University of Applied Sciences and the Satakunta University of Applied Sciences Business and Administration in Finland . From 2009 to 2011, Kirste worked at Sächsische Aufbaubank in the field of technology funding and from 2012 to 2014 as a regional manager for the Brandenburg Future Agency . Kirste has been a freelance contractor in the field of project services since 2015.

Kirste worked at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences until he moved into the state parliament and was responsible for technology transfer. Kirste is currently released from this position for the duration of the state parliament mandate.

Political career

Kirste is deputy district chairman of the AfD district association Meißen as well as city council and district council in Meißen. Kirste is also a member of the supervisory board at Innovations Centrum Meißen GmbH. Kirste is volunteer at the regional association Sächsischer Heimatschutz eV and the partnership association Landkreis Meißen eV In the past, Kirste was head of the local board of trustees of the German Foundation for Monument Protection .

Kirste won a direct mandate in the Meißen 3 constituency with 34.2 percent on September 1, 2019 in the state election in Saxony 2019 ; He was able to move into the Saxon state parliament for the AfD Saxony .
