Thomas Löffler (born May 1, 1989 ) is an Austrian soccer player . Since the 2008/09 season he has been playing for FC Wacker Innsbruck in the first division and the Bundesliga .

Career

Thomas Löffler grew up in the Tyrolean community of Fritzens , where he learned his trade at the football club. Active in the sixth-class regional league in 2006/07, the then 18-year-old was awarded to the regional league club SV Hall in the summer of 2007 . There the midfielder was an integral part of the squad and was used in 26 of the 30 championship games.

After this season, which ended the SV Hall in fourth place in the table, Thomas Löffler moved in June 2008 free of charge to Bundesliga relegated FC Wacker Innsbruck , with whom he signed a two-year contract. He made his first league debut on September 26, 2008 against FC Lustenau when he was substituted on in the 82nd minute. Löffler scored the first goal for Innsbruck on March 17, 2009, when he came back into the game in the 82 minute and three minutes later fixed the 1-0 away win against 1. FC Vöcklabruck . However, the midfielder could not fully assert himself in his first season at FC Wacker Innsbruck; so far he has only been in the starting line-up, has been substituted on a few times and otherwise plays in the second team in the fourth-class Tyrolean league .

With FC Wacker Innsbruck, Löffler was in the 2009/10 season two points ahead of FC Admira Wacker Mödling champion of the second-class Austrian first division and thus rose with the team in the Bundesliga.
