Thomas Lobb
Thomas Lobb ( 1811 - April 30, 1894 in Devoran , Cornwall ) was a British botanist . Its official botanical author's abbreviation is " T. Lobb ".

Like his brother William Lobb, Thomas Lobb worked as a plant collector for Veitch & Sons .
From 1843 to 1860 Thomas Lobb collected mainly in India , Indonesia and the Philippines . In 1845 he found orchids of the species Phalaenopsis lobbii named after him in the eastern Himalayas for the first time , in the Karia Mountains in eastern India, near Nowgong at 1500 m, the Hoya lobbii, also named after him .
