Thomas Mädler

Thomas Mädler (born April 26, 1955 in Leipzig ) is a German engineer and politician ( SPD ) and former member of the Saxon state parliament .

Life

Thomas Mädler visited the POS in Leipzig . From 1971 to 1974 he did an apprenticeship as a mechanical engineer with high school diploma at VEB lathe factory in Leipzig. Between 1975 and 1980, Mädler studied mechanical engineering at the TH Karl-Marx-Stadt with a degree in engineering. From 1980 to 1984 he was a designer at the Kirow factory in Leipzig and from 1985 to 1990 he was a designer and project engineer at the rationalization company mechanical engineering trade.

Mädler is Protestant, married and has two children.

politics

Thomas Mädler joined the New Forum in 1989 and has been a member of the SDP and the SPD since 1990 . From 1991 he was deputy chairman of the local association of Lindenau and Leutzsch and from 1992 a member of the board in the Leipzig sub-district.

Mädler was a member of the assembly of the Saxon State Media Authority and deputy chairman of the technology committee. He was President of the City Sports Association of Leipzig and a member of the Presidium of the State Sports Association of Saxony.

In October 1990, he entered the Saxon state parliament via the state list of the SPD Saxony , to which he belonged for two electoral terms until 1999. In the second electoral term he was also elected from the state list. There he was a member of the Committee on School, Youth and Sport and the Petitions Committee in the first electoral term; he was chairman of the latter in the second electoral term.
