Thomas Madl

Thomas Madl (born April 28, 1957 in Löbejün ) is a former German politician of the CDU and was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life and work

In 1971 Thomas Madl graduated from the polytechnic high school and in 1975 the extended high school "August-Hermann-Francke" with the Abitur. He completed his studies at the Technical University of Ilmenau with a degree in precision engineering. From 1979 to 1985 he worked as an engineer in research at the Central Institute for Welding Technology in Halle and from 1985 to 1990 as a research assistant .

He is married and has two children.

politics

After reunification, Madl worked from 1990 to 1994 and from 1995 to 2002 as the full-time mayor of Löbejün. Since 2002 he has taken on the post as a volunteer .

Madl joined the CDU in 1990. From 1992 to 1999 he was an assessor in the CDU district committee Saalkreis and since 1998 a member of the CDU state committee . From 1999 to 2006 he took over the chairmanship of the CDU district committee Saalkreis and since 1999 the CDU parliamentary group chairmanship in the district council Saalkreis.

During the second electoral period from 1994 to 1998 and since the state elections in 2002, Madl has been a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt for constituency 34 ( Saalkreis ) . He sat for the CDU parliamentary group in the Committee on Home Affairs, in the Parliamentary Control Commission and in the Council of Elders .

Madl resigned the chairmanship of the interior committee of the state parliament on May 19, 2009 in the course of a salary affair (double employment of one employee). On June 2, 2009, Thomas Madl resigned from the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament after his exclusion had been requested within the parliamentary group. On November 13, 2009, Madl was voted out of the Parliamentary Control Commission by resolution of the state parliament with 55 out of 82 votes. On August 25, 2010 he was expelled from the party by the Federal Party Court of the CDU after the State Party Court had only issued one reprimand against him. In June 2011 Madl and the state parliament agreed in a settlement proposed by the administrative court on a repayment of 86,000 euros in state subsidies as a result of the double employment of a female employee. Criminal proceedings against Madl had been discontinued due to the "unclear legal situation".
