Thomas McMillan (politician, 1919)
Thomas McMillan ( February 12, 1919 - April 30, 1980 ) was a Scottish politician.
Political career
Since the general election in 1950 which held Labor -Politiker James McInnes the mandate of the constituency Glasgow Central . At the general election in 1966 , he has not raced for more. Instead, McMillan ran for the Labor Party electoral mandate. His only opponent was the conservative R.B. Anderson . On election day, McMillan prevailed clearly against Anderson with a vote of 74.8% and subsequently moved into the British House of Commons for the first time . In the following general election in 1970 , February 1974 , October 1974 and 1979 McMillan held the mandate for the Labor Party. He died in April 1980, before the end of the electoral term. After his death, by-elections were required in the Glasgow Central constituency. McMillan's party colleague Robert McTaggart won this . From his 14 years in the House of Commons, there are 167 contributions by McMillan.
