Thomas Mehrlaender
Thomas Mehrlaender (* 1954 in Schweinfurt , Bavaria ) is a German painter and sculptor .
Life
Mehrlaender studied from 1977 to 1982 at the Fachhochschule für Gestaltung in Würzburg and from 1982 to 1984 at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin . This was followed by trips through Turkey , Persia and Syria , Southeast Asia , to the Canary Islands as well as through the USA and South America . His artist name is also due to this passion for travel.
In 1986 he took part in the exhibition "Shock and Creation - Youth Aesthetics in the 20th Century" at the Württemberg Art Association.
In 1992 he learned to create sculptures with a chainsaw in Norway . Since then he has been performing as a chainsaw aesthetic throughout Europe .
From 1996 to 2008 the artist lived and worked on the Canary Island of El Hierro .
In 2012 he was seen as Charles Bukowski in the theater ensemble Würzburg.
Multi-country's main motifs are landscapes and human bodies. His motto is: "Life is my work of art, the works are the traces."
