Thomas Obermeier

Thomas Obermeier (born November 2, 1964 in Kipfenberg ) is a Bavarian politician ( CSU ) and a former member of the Bavarian State Parliament .

education and profession

Thomas Obermeier attended elementary school in Kipfenberg from 1971 to 1976 and the Willibald grammar school in Eichstätt from 1976 to 1985 . From 1986 to 1994 he studied law in Regensburg and has been a lawyer in Eichstätt since 1995. He is Roman Catholic and has four children.

politics

Thomas Obermeier joined the CSU in 1997. He was a member of the Eichstätt district council until 2013.

From September 28, 1998 to October 19, 2008 he was a member of the state parliament. There was a member of the Committee on Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Issues and the Committee on Local Affairs and Internal Security. He is also a member of the inquiry commission “Being Young in Bavaria” of the Bavarian State Parliament. After the Bavarian state elections in September 2008 and the great loss of votes of the CSU in Bavaria, but also in the Eichstätt district, Obermeier remained chairman of the Eichstätt CSU district association. However, he did not make it into the state parliament again. In February 2009 he resigned from the office of CSU district chairman after Dr. Reinhard Brandl had been designated by the board of directors as a candidate for the Bundestag candidacy in constituency 217 .

Other offices

Obermeier is chairman of the Musikschule Eichstätt eV He is also the chairman of the disciplinary court of the Catholic University of Eichstätt - Ingolstadt and is a member of the arbitral tribunal in the DJK Diocesan Association of Eichstätt.
