Thomas Perle (* 1987 in Oberwischau ) is a Romanian-German writer and playwright .

Life

Thomas Perle was born the son of a Hungarian and a Romanian German in the Socialist Republic of Romania . In 1991 he emigrated with his family to Nuremberg , where he grew up trilingual. After graduating from high school, he gained his first experience as a trainee in directing, dramaturgy and theater education at the State Theater in Nuremberg . He studied theater, film and media studies at the University of Vienna with a diploma.

In addition to his studies, he worked in the dramaturgy at the Volkstheater Wien and was assistant director at the Schauspielhaus Wien . 2013 received for his short prose text we went because everyone went. the exil literary award and was Writer in Residence at the LOISIUM in 2014 as part of the ORF III's funding for young authors . Since 2015 he has been a member of the intercultural author theater project Wiener Wortstaetten . In 2016 he led a writing class for young people at the Staatstheater Nürnberg, whose texts he went along with his short prose text we all went. staged. In 2018 his prose debut of the same name was published by the Viennese publisher edition exil. In 2019, together with the Berlin director and theater educator Uta Plate at the Schauspielhaus Graz , he developed Brave New World: Family 2.0 , a citizens' stage about living together.

In the same year he received for his play Carpathian stains the Retz Hofer Drama price. The world premiere will take place in the 2020/21 season at the Burgtheater Vienna.
