Thomas Raschke
Thomas Raschke (born December 3, 1961 in Schwäbisch Gmünd ) is a German sculptor , goldsmith and knife maker .
Life
Raschke trained as a goldsmith from 1979 to 1982 and passed the master's examination in 1991. From 1987 to 1994 he studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart with Moritz Baumgartl , Inge Mahn and Micha Ullman. In 1993 he founded the artist group Das Deutsche Handwerk with Sebastian Rogler , which still exists today.
After studying, Raschke taught at the Kolping Art Academy in Stuttgart and the Paritätisches Bildungswerk Frankfurt am Main. After a two-year resident scholarship from the Baden-Württemberg Art Foundation, he received the Cité des Arts Internationale scholarship to Paris in 2001. In 2007 the company moved to Stockholm.
Works
Thomas Raschke's work includes three room installations made of wire, a workshop until 2000, a kitchen and living room until 2006, volume, unfinished. Furthermore, groups of works in the field of jewelry: cardboard jewelry, castles, steel wire and enamel jewelry.
