Thomas Reusch-Frey (born March 4, 1959 in Metzingen ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg from 2011 to 2016 .

biography

After high school and community service, Thomas Reusch-Frey first completed an agricultural training before studying Protestant theology at the universities of Tübingen, Munich and Zurich. From 1994 to May 2011 he was pastor at Kilian's Church in Bietigheim-Bissingen . For the state election campaign in 2011 and his subsequent parliamentary function until 2016, he was released from the office of pastor or on leave. On October 1, 2016, he took up the position as head of the treffpunkt 50plus in Stuttgart and is thus tied to the Evangelical Academy in Bad Boll as head of studies and pastor .

Reusch-Frey is the initiator of the Stolperstein initiative in Bietigheim-Bissingen . He is married and has three children.

politics

Reusch-Frey has been a member of the SPD since 1989. He has had a seat in the municipal council of Bietigheim-Bissingen since 1999; he is also an honorary deputy to the mayor. He was a member of the district council of the Ludwigsburg district from 2009 to 2011.

In the state elections in 2011, he was elected to the state parliament with a second mandate in the Bietigheim-Bissingen constituency. The poor nationwide performance of the SPD in the state elections in 2016 cost Reusch-Frey his mandate after only one legislative period: he only received 13.0 percent of the votes (after 24.1 percent in 2011) and did not make it back into the state parliament.
