Thomas Rixen

Thomas Rixen (* 1974 ) is a German political scientist .

Life

From 1994 to 1997 he studied political science, public law and economics at the University of Bonn and from 1998 to 1999 at the University of Paris-Nanterre (Erasmus / Socrates grant). From 1997 to 2001 he obtained an MA in political science, public law and business administration as well as a degree in economics at the University of Hamburg . From 2001 to 2002 earned a Master of Applied Economics (MAE) from the University of Michigan ( DAAD scholarship ). After completing his doctorate (2003–2007) at Jacobs University Bremen. From 2007 to 2011 he was a lecturer at the University of Potsdam , the Free University of Berlin and the University of Lucerne for his dissertation on "The Political Economy of Global Tax Policy" . From 2003 to 2007 he was a research fellow in the Collaborative Research Center “Transformations of the State”, Jacobs University Bremen . From 2011 to 2012 he was a full professor of political science (international political economy) at the Free University of Berlin. From 2007 to 2012 he was a research assistant at the Social Science Research Center Berlin (WZB), “Global Governance” department. From 2012 to 2019 he taught as a professor of political science, especially international comparative policy analysis at the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg . Since 2019 he has been Professor of International and Comparative Political Economy at the Free University of Berlin.
