Thomas Sauer (politician)

Thomas Sauer (born March 18, 1962 in Siek , Schleswig-Holstein , † March 10, 2014 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1998 to 2005 he was a member of the German Bundestag .

Life and work

Sauer attended secondary school in Großhansdorf . After successfully completing his degree, he attended a vocational school, then a commercial high school, and then began studying economics in Hamburg. After graduating with a degree in economics, he worked until 1998 as a freelance honorary lecturer and as a member of the Bundestag member Eckart Kuhlwein .

Thomas Sauer has a son.

Political party

Sauer joined the SPD in 1978. He gained his first political experience as district chairman of the Jusos in his home district of Stormarn . He was then a state committee delegate and deputy SPD district chairman. He was also involved as co-editor of the magazine Spw - magazine for socialist politics and economy .

MP

From 1998 to 2005 Sauer was a member of the German Bundestag . He has always entered the Bundestag as a directly elected member of the constituency of the Duchy of Lauenburg - Stormarn-Süd . In the 2005 federal election he was narrowly defeated by the CDU candidate Carl-Eduard von Bismarck .
