Thomas Schöne

Thomas Schöne (born May 1, 1967 in Warstein ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He has been mayor of the North Rhine-Westphalian city ​​of Warstein since 2015 .

Life

Thomas Schöne went to elementary school in Belecke and graduated from high school in Warstein in 1986. After his military service he did an internship in the town hall of Warstein. He received his doctorate in law from the University of Bonn and then worked as a lawyer in Bonn and Warstein . From 2002 until his election as mayor, he worked as a legal advisor at the energy supply group RWE .

Since 1988 he has been a member of the Catholic student association KDStV Novesia Bonn . He has been a member of the CDU since 1990. He was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group on the Warstein city council.

Mayor's office

For the mayoral election in 2015 he stood as a candidate for the CDU and the Warsteiner List (WAL). He won the election on September 13 in the first ballot with 50.18 percent of the valid votes and a turnout of 49.85 percent. He is the successor to Manfred Gödde (BürgerGemeinschaft Warstein), who did not run again for health reasons.
