Thomas Scheuring (born  December 13, 1981 in Göppingen ) is a German football player .

Career

Scheuring played in his youth for TSGV Albershausen , later for VfB Stuttgart . Until 2003 he played for AC Catania Kirchheim , for the 2003/04 season he moved to the association league club VfL Kirchheim / Teck . On August 31, 2003 he played with the club in the first round of the DFB Cup against Hannover 96 (0-3 win for Hannover). From 2004 he was active for SSV Reutlingen , first from 2004 to 2006 in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg and then from 2006 to 2008 in the then third-class Regionalliga Süd . For the 2008/09 season he moved to the Cypriot first division club Omonia Nicosia .

After only one year in Cyprus, Scheuring moved back to Germany in 2009 for VfR Aalen, who had been relegated from the third division and put together a completely new team except for three players for the new season in the now fourth-class Regionalliga Süd. Scheuring became a regular player and achieved direct promotion back to the third division with the club, as well as winning the WFV Cup , which entitles them to participate in the first round of the DFB Cup.

Scheuring made his professional debut in Germany on the first day of the new third division season on July 24, 2010 in the 3-0 away defeat against relegated second division Hansa Rostock . In May 2011 negotiations about an extension of the expiring contract failed, Scheuring then left the club and joined SV Waldhof Mannheim , which had previously been promoted to the Regionalliga Süd , where his contract was not extended after one season.

Scheuring withdrew from professional sport and was initially without a club for six months before he joined the SV Göppingen league club in spring 2013 . In the summer of 2013, for professional reasons, he turned down an offer to return to SSV Reutlingen and instead switched to the national division SV Ebersbach. He stayed there until 2017. He spent the 2017/18 season with the association league team Calcio Leinfelden-Echterdingen.

For the 2018/19 season Scheuring took over the position of player-coach at the A-Kreisligisten 1. FC Eislingen .
