geography

history
The Good Köttinghausen belonged in 1300 to the parish Remblinghausen and the basic rule of the pin Meschede and was one of 40 manors, so-called "curtes" of the pen. The manorial rule of the monastery was then administered by means of a Fronhof constitution. Smaller administrative districts formed, to which Köttinghausen belonged, as the seat of the local manorial administration. A certain number of "hooves" was assigned to each Fronhof. In the 14th century, 38 hooves in 19 localities belonged to the administrative district of the Fronhof "Cottinchusen", making Köttinghausen the second largest Fronamt. Two courtyards were listed in the appraisal registers from the 16th century to around 1800, today there are four courtyards and houses. The place was incorporated into the city of Meschede on January 1, 1975 as part of the municipal reorganization of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia as part of the former municipality of Remblinghausen.
