Baldeborn

Baldeborn is a district of Meschede in the North Rhine-Westphalian Hochsauerlandkreis . The 470 acre farm with manor house and chapel is located about 1.5 kilometers northeast of Remblinghausen and 1 kilometer west of Löllinghausen . The place is on the L 915.

history

Baldeborn was an old knight's seat. It used to be called Balmern and Balbern. Around 1370, the Wesseler family replaced the von Baldeborn knight family. The estate subsequently came into the possession of the von Ostendorf family. Herbold von Lohn became Lord of Baldeborn after 1600, before the manor came into the possession of the von Gaugreben zu Valme family towards the end of the 17th century . Before 1830, the then leaseholder acquired the 460 acre estate, which ended its status as a manor.
