Höringhausen is a district of the city of Meschede in the Hochsauerlandkreis .

geography

The place is on the L 740 and the Kleine Henne about eight kilometers southeast of Meschede and about two kilometers west-southwest of the Goldener Strauch mountain . Neighboring places are Bonacker , Drasenbeck , Frielinghausen and Köttinghausen . The Hockenstein nature reserve is located one kilometer east of Höringhausen .

history

In the 14th century there was a hoof from the Meschede Abbey in "Heerinchusen" . Early clues about the size of the place can be found in an appraisal register for the year 1543. According to this, there were three subject to appraisal in “Herminckhuißen”; the number should have agreed with the farms or houses that existed at the time.

Since the reorganization by the Sauerland / Paderborn law on January 1, 1975, Höringhausen has belonged to the Hochsauerlandkreis and is a district of the city of Meschede.
