Drasenbeck (Schulte Manor)

Drasenbeck is a district of Meschede in the North Rhine-Westphalian Hochsauerlandkreis in Germany .

location

The village on Landesstraße 740 is about two kilometers southeast of Remblinghausen and today consists of three spatially separated building groups: Gutshof Schulte , Hof Wiethoff and the sawmill Theodor Schulte . The Schultenhof has extensive forests east of the L 740.

history

It is documented that the main courtyard in Drasenbeck delivered half a load of wine to Meschede Abbey in 1314 . Several smaller estates belonged to the Schultenhof, one of the upper courts of the Meschede Monastery. Of the three other Drasenbeck farms, one was a lower court of the Schultenhof, while the other two belonged to the association of Köttinghauser Unterhöfe. These two other courtyards were later combined with the Schultenhof. According to a treasury register, there was an iron hammer operated by water power in Drasenbeck in 1664 . This hammer disappeared after 1870. The Antonius Chapel was built in the 17th century.

The Kleine Henne flows through Drasenbeck and is divided into two parts by a weir near Gutshof Schulte: A large part of the stream is directed through the mountain between Schultenhof and Gut Horbach near Remblinghausen in the direction of the Horbach , which feeds the Hennesee . The smaller arm of the little hen keeps its name, is led past the Drasenbeck sawmill and then fed by the Remblinghauser Bach coming from Remblinghausen near Löllinghausen .

Diabase was mined in the Drasenbeck quarry until the 1990s . In the disused quarry since the beginning of the 21st century breeds of owl and there is a large presence of mining and palmate newt .
