Thomas Schieb

Thomas Schieb (* 1964 ) is a German diplomat .

Life

Schiebe studied economics at the University of Göttingen and then went into the foreign service . In 1994 he became a consultant in the Bosnia special staff at the Foreign Office in Bonn . From May to September 1996 he was Second Secretary for Humanitarian Aid at the German Embassy in Sarajevo . Subsequently, he was first secretary at the culture and press department of the German embassy in Dar es Salaam , Tanzania, until 1998 . After working again as a consultant in the Foreign Office, in 2002 Schieb went to the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the EU as Counselorto Brussels . From 2005 to 2009 he was Deputy European Correspondent at the Federal Foreign Office, after which he took over the management of the EU coordination group there. From 2014, Schieb was Political Coordinator at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York City . He has been the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Serbia since 2018 .

Schieb is married and has three children.
