Thomas Schuller-Götzburg

Thomas Schuller-Götzburg (born January 15, 1966 in Hallein ) is an Austrian diplomat .

Life

Thomas Schuller-Götzburg studied Egyptology with a combination of prehistory and early history as well as Sudanese archeology , but then graduated from the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna and joined the diplomatic service at the Federal Ministry for Foreign Affairs  (BMaA) in 1990 .

Foreign posts were in 1991 in Zagreb (Croatia) , in Bern (Switzerland) , 1995–1997 in Belgrade (Serbia) , from 2000 in the Austrian OSCE delegation, in Cairo (Egypt) and as cultural representative in Buenos Aires (Argentina , Ambassador Gudrun Graf ).

In 2008 he then became the Austrian Ambassador in Caracas (Venezuela) , with expanded activities in Guyana , Lesser Antilles and the permanent representation to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) . During his tenure, the devastating earthquake in Haiti in 2010 , where he traveled for first aid. After a period of office work (Eastern and Southeastern Europe Department), he took up the service as ambassador to Vietnam in September 2017 .
