Thomas Stimm (born March 18, 1948 in Vienna ) is an Austrian painter and sculptor . He is the son of Oswald Stimm .

Education and career

Voting was 1969-1974 training at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in Max Weiler . In 1971 he became a member of the GUM group (together with Leo Insam and Julius Mende ). From 1974 to 1976 he was Max Weiler's assistant at the AdBK, Vienna. He had his first solo exhibition in 1978 in the Theseus temple in Vienna. In 1980 he began with his first ceramic works, which he shaped into landscapes. In 1986 he made the first flowers and then natural pieces that took on monumental dimensions. In 1995, Stimm held a visiting professorship at the Kunsthochschule Bremen .

He lives and works in Vienna .
