Career

Teichmann played in his youth from 1968 to 1972 at BSG Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt and then went through the youth departments at FC Vorwärts Frankfurt (Oder) to the first team. He made his debut in the league season 1976/77 on March 12, 1977 when he was in the starting line-up on matchday 18 in a 2-0 win against Rot-Weiß Erfurt . Nevertheless, he was only considered a substitute. In the following season, Teichmann was at least in the starting eleven on the first three match days, did not know how to prevail over the season and stayed in eight appearances. His first and only goal in the league he scored on December 3, 1977, when he scored the 0-2 opening goal against FC Carl Zeiss Jena on matchday 13 in the 11th minute . The game ended 2-2. After a total of only 22 league games in five seasons, Teichmann went to BSG Energie Cottbus in 1981, which had just been promoted to the top division. 1981/82 he came on 15 missions. After the direct relegation to the second-rate GDR league, he played 10 more times for the Cottbus first team.
